PTEC Marketplace and Working Group - 2025

The DRESMARA delegation, composed of COL Ionut TARTAREANU/Head of the Education Support Service and Mr. Dorin DUICULETE/expert - Education Planning, Secretariat, Public and International Relations Office, attended the NATO Partnership Training and Education Centres Marketplace and Working Group, organized by the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) and NATO School Oberammergau (NSO), in Mons, the Kingdom of Belgium, between 19 and 20 February 2025.

The PTECs Marketplace was opened by the Mr. Christophe LHOMME, Head of Delivery Section, Defence and Security Cooperation Directorate, NATO HQ, Brigadier General Martin REMES, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Military Cooperation Division of the SHAPE Partnerships Directorate, Colonel Jay SMITH, Commandant of NATO School Oberammergau and Colonel Jesko PELDZUS, Branch Head of Education, Training Plans and Programmes, HQ SACT.

In the speeches addressed to the representatives of the 27 PTECs, NSOs and one Ukrainian center with PTEC candidate status, joined together in this activity to present to the NATO community - member states and partners - the educational offer, the missions and objectives of the respective institutions, the speakers have highlighted the crucial role of these educational facilities in supporting NATO objectives and missions in partnership with NATO partner countries.

The distinguished guests also highlighted pro-active participation of the PTEC community in NATO initiatives to enhance interoperability by conducting courses or by providing experts in support of NATO's partnership programs and contributing to multinational education and training activities in -a variety of critical areas of NATO cooperation.

The DRESMARA stand was visited by representatives of NATO structures that opened the exhibition, representatives of NATO member countries and partners from SHAPE, staff from SHAPE structures and participants in the Annual Disciplines Forum. The annual exhibition offered the opportunity for DRESMARA representatives to present the postgraduate studies programs and achievements in the field of scientific research, education and training, to the highest NATO standards as well as activities within the NATO programs and the PTEC community.

The PTECs Working Group, was held on 20 February, both in plenary and in sections, with discussions moderated by HQ SACT and NSO representatives.

The following structures that participated in the plenary work presented updates of activities/programs, as follows: Defence and Security Cooperation Directorate/Operations Division/NATO HQ, International Military Staff and SHAPE PD.

The following aspects were presented/discussed within the working group:

  • review of the conclusions and tasks obtained/drawn during the 2024 PTECs Commandants' Conference;
  • the need to develop a platform to ensure the exchange of information within the PTEC community;
  • identifying ways of "mentorship/sponsorship" within the PTEC community;
  • participation in the "Train the Trainer" and "Instructor Exchange" programs offered by NSO.
