INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ”DEFENSE RESOURCES MANAGEMENT IN THE 21ST CENTURY” (CoDRM)

Regional Department of Defense Resource Management Studies (DRESMARA), together with co-organizers Non-Governmental Association "Political Research Group", Faculty of National Security/War Studies University from Warsaw, Republic of Poland, Faculty of Military Leadership/University of Defense, Brno , the Czech Republic and "Alexandru cel Bun" Military Academy of the Armed Forces from Chisinau, Republic of Moldova and in partnership with the Military Sciences Section of the Romanian Academy of Scientists, the NATO HUMINT Center of Excellence, Oradea and "Transylvania" University from Brasov organized between 07 to 08 November, the 19th edition of the International Scientific Conference "Defense Resource Management in the 21st Century".

The main theme of the conference is DEFEND AND INOVATE NAVIGATING THE FUTURE OF EUROPEAN AND NATO SECURITY AND DEFENSE INDUSTRIES, and the high academic standing of the event was supported by special guests, from the country and abroad, as keynote speakers who chaired the plenary sessions – representatives of the civil and military academic environment, of governmental institutions and non-governmental research and development organizations in the field of geopolitics: Major General Remus-Hadrian BONDOR, Head of the Strategic Planning Directorate/Defense Staff/Ministry of National Defense, Mr. Ioan-Mircea PAȘCU, Professor, PhD, the National School of Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest, Colonel Robert "Clay" MCVAY, Deputy Director/the Army Applications Laboratory, USA, Mr. Kevin CAPOZZOLI, President and Chief Strategy Officer/Mach Industries, USA, Ms. Marybeth P. The conference was held both in plenary sessions and in 7 specific sections, as follows:

  • Information Science – COL eng. Cezar VASILESCU, professor, PhD, habl./DRESMARA;
  • Military Affairs and Security – moderator: Ms. Liliana GROSARU-FILIP, PhD/president of "Political Research Group".

During the conference, a "round table" was held with the theme "Innovative Horizons: Romania-US Partnerships in Defense Technology and Investment". The debates, led by the director of DRESMARA, Mr. Colonel, university professor dr. Florin-Eduard GROSARU and Mrs. Liliana GROSARU-FILIP, brought together both the moderators of the conference and special guests:

Due to the special scientific prestige built over previous editions, the conference brought together participants at national and international level, with 32 papers presented by 46 authors, individually or collectively, as follows:

    • government institutions: Romanian Academy – 1 article/2 authors.
  • at international level - 20 articles with 23 authors, representing:
    • training and education military institutions: "Alexandru cel Bun" Military Academy of the Armed Forces, Chisinau/the Republic of Moldova, War Studies University, Warsaw/the Republic of Poland – 5 articles /8 authors;
    • structures of the Ministries of Defense from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, the Republic of Iraq, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Tunisia – 12 articles/12 authors;
    • civil education/research institutions: The Baltic Institute of Advanced Technology (BPTI)/Vilnius, the Republic of Lithuania and Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University/the Republic of Türkiye – 3 articles/2 authors.

The 19th edition of the conference represented the perfect framework for relevant scientific debates on concepts, principles and trends in the fields of defense economics and planning, theories and practices in management, social sciences, transatlantic cooperation and information science in the new context of the changes generated by the current security environment.
