The 23rd Annual Partnership Training and Education Centres Commandants Conference (PTEC CC 2024)

The Head of the Education Support Service, COL Ionuț TĂRTĂREANU, participated, as a deputy of the director of DRESMNARA, in the 23rd Annual Partnership Training and Education Centres Commandants Conference (PTEC CC) organized by the Education and Training Plans and Policies Branch/ Joint Force Development Directorate/Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) and the NATO School Oberammergau (NSO) which hosted the activity between 14 and 15.05.2024.

Co-chaired by HQ SACT and NSO and designed to identify areas of mutual cooperation and to promote the main objectives and areas of practical military cooperation described in the PTEC Concept, the conference aimed to enhance professionalism, promote international troop interoperability, and drive NATO partnership initiatives forward. The leading team, with the support of the International Military Staff and Partnerships Directorate/Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (PD/SHAPE) provided strategic guidance to PTEC Commandants, charting a path for future collaboration.

The conference was attended by:

  • representatives from various NATO command structures: Defense and Security Cooperation Directorate/Operations Division/International Staff, Military International Staff, PD/SHAPE;
  • commandants and representatives of 25 centers, including the commandant of the Qatari Joint Warfare Training Centre, an institution accredited this year as the 35th PTEC and a representative of the Military Police Training Centre from Ukraine, candidate for PTEC accreditation.

Multilateral break-out sessions offered the possibility to foster discussions on how PTECs can work together for the benefits of the PTEC Community, NATO and Partner Education and Training and to share experience and best practices in different areas of individual education and training.

During the Conference, PTEC commandants and representatives had the opportunity to receive updates on specific issues of different NATO entities, discussed outcomes of the PTEC Working Group 2024 and made recommendations for 2025.

The participants emphasized the productivity of the conference, highlighting, at the same time, the importance of communication among commandants and the proactivity of the PTEC.
