NATO Partnership Training and Education Centers Working Group 2024

Between January 29 and February 01 2024 DRESMARA hosted the Partnership Training and Education Centres Working Group /PTEC WG 2024.

The event, organized by Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) and the NATO School in Oberammergau (NSO), was opened by the director of DRESMARA, Colonel Florin-Eduard GROSARU, professor, PhD, in the presence of Colonel Cosmin Florian OLARIU, associate professor, PhD, the vice-rector for Continuing Education, Relationship with Students and Career Guidance from "Carol I" National Defense University and the representatives of NATO structures (HQ SACT, International Military Staff/IMS, Partnerships Directorate – Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe/PD SHAPE, Joint Force Command Naples), 16 PTECs as well as of the Joint Warfare Training Center from the State of Qatar, candidate for PTEC status, in the process of accreditation.

During the working sessions, the participating NATO structures, HQ SACT, IMS, PD SHAPE, but also NATO International Staff/IS, through VTC, presented updates covering various issues and topics, such as: Collective Defence, Crisis Preventions and Management, and Cooperative Security - three core tasks of the Alliance, the role and quality of education and training provided by PTECs in NATO structures and partner states, including through mobile training teams (MTT), planning of Seat Allocation Process (SAP) in NATO accredited/certified ETF, updating the e-PRIME system, with a deadline for completion at the end of March, direct support provided to partner states, international organizations and non-partner countries in the development of defense capability and local forces and in defence and related security sector reform and institution building to contribute to international security and conflict prevention, and to enhance the defence and related security capacities of the partners, and to strengthen their resilience through tailored and practical training, education, advice, assistance, mentoring, Global Programming and the annual battle rhythm, the NATO Discipline List 2024 project, NATO quality assurance (QA), as well as the importance and necessity of PTECs participation in the events of 2024: Annual Disciplines Forum, 20-22.02, Military Strategic Partnership Conference, 08-10.04 – Sarajevo/Bosnia and Herzegovina, PTEC Commanders Conference, 14-15.05 – NSO/Germany, Mons/Belgium, Quality Assurance Forum, 08-09.10 – Sarajevo/Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the same time, aspects of the activities of the PTEC community and the objectives outlined at the 2023 PTEC Commandants' Conference were addressed, presented, underlined, analyzed and discussed.
