DRESMARA at 8th Clearing House on Defense Education

Between 18-21 June 2019, COL Prof. Cezar VASILESCU, PhD participated in the 8th edition of the „Clearing House on Defense Education and Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP)” hosted by the Hungarian Ministry of Defence at the National University of Public Service in Budapest. The Clearing House brought together over 70 participants from various defense education institutions from 15 NATO countries, along with representatives of International Staff / Defense Institution and Capacity Building Directorate / Operations Division / International Staff (DICBD /OD /IS), Allied Command Transformation (ACT), MPD, US Joint Forces Staff College, NATO School Oberammergau, George C. Marshall Center and Partnership for Peace Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes.

Participants discussed the current status of the support granted to NATO’s partner countries through „Defense Education Enhancement Programme” and their identified needs to build, develop and reform educational institutions in the defense domain, correlated with the assistance offers. During the debates, Romania’s contribution to the implementation of the action plan decided by NATO IS for the development of military educational institution from NATO’s partner countries was highly appreciated.

The Defence Education Enhancement Programme (DEEP) connects senior educators from NATO nations with their counterparts from Partner countries with the objective of enhancing educational curricula and learning methods.
